ISO Accreditation for Proficiency Testing Programs

The CAP is committed to providing the highest quality proficiency testing (PT) materials possible. We consider accreditation through independent agencies essential in giving your laboratory confidence in the programs and services we provide.

Our Quality Policy

  • To provide proficiency services of the highest level of professionalism and integrity, accredited or approved to those standards against which our quality management system has been established;
  • To implement and continually improve our quality management system and its effectiveness, consistent with this quality policy;
  • To ensure that all clients are treated equitably and impartially and that their confidentiality is maintained;
  • To consider market needs when developing new services;
  • To ensure that this quality policy is understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels within our organization.

After a thorough assessment, the CAP has been found to meet the requirements of International ISO/IEC 17043:2010 conformity assessment — general requirements for PT. The CAP meets the management system requirements of ISO 17043:2010, which include the principles of ISO 9001:2015; therefore, in recognition of a successful evaluation process, accreditation was granted to the CAP.

Testing Classes

Chemistry, including routine chemistry, drug monitoring, urine drug screen, lipids, enzymes, immunology, endocrinology, fecal occult blood, blood gases, oximetry, and glucose point-of-care testing

Hematology, including routine hematology, red cell disorders, coagulation, morphology, bone marrow, flow cytometry, and fetal maternal hemorrhage

Cytopathology, including gynecological and non-gynecological sample types

Microbiology, including bacteriology, C. difficile antigen and/or toxin detection, smears for acid-fast bacilli, C. trachomatis/N. gonorrhoeae by NAAT, mycology, parasitology, viral serology, and direct viral antigen tests

Pathology, including various immunohistochemical predictive or prognostic markers such CD117, Ki67, ER/PR breast tumor predictive markers, special stains and/or oversight stains (H&E or HPS)

Point-of-care testing (chemistry, glucose, urine drug screen, and HIV antibody)

Transfusion medicine, (ABO, Rh, antibody detection/identification, phenotype, DAT, titration, crossmatch), thus giving us the ability to offer ILC/PTs for numerous sub-disciplines. Please review the CAP’s scope to view all available sub disciplines.

As the largest PT provider to the clinical community we will be adding disciplines to our scope of accreditation as the needs of the community dictate.
