Zoom Meeting Resources for Councils and Committees

The global pandemic made the world make a seismic shift in every aspect of personal and professional life. In response, the CAP Board of Governors agreed with the Information Technology Leadership Committee (ITLC) Collaboration workgroup recommendation to use Zoom for committee and council meetings. This workgroup developed a standard set of practices and documentation to ensure a consistent and predictable web meeting experience for CAP members and staff.

Overview of Zoom

Zoom provides a reliable cloud platform for video, voice, content sharing, and chat runs across mobile devices, desktops, and telephones1. Additionally, Zoom offers robust attendee and presenter features that help emulate an in-person meeting experience.

Resources for Attendees and Presenters

The ITLC Collaboration Workgroup, with their collective Zoom knowledge, offer two resources for CAP council and committee members, whose role may be an attendee or presenter, to help acclimate you to your role within the Zoom environment. These resources include helpful screenshots and step-by-step instructions on how to access features and use them during a Zoom meeting.

Zoom also provides helpful video tutorials and instructional articles supplemental to our guides. Links are within the resources and also provided below.
